Aspen Community Midwives is a group of dedicated midwives who will give you exceptional care through every stage of life. The team chose their name based on the aspen tree and its symbolism as protection in nearly every circumstance. Their care is covered through Alberta Health Services, which offers assistance for anyone experiencing a low-risk pregnancy. The midwives are ready to assist with the birth center, hospital, and home deliveries. They offer inclusive and gentle care for everyone, regardless of their background. 

Services

Aspen Community Midwives will be there for every stage of your pregnancy, starting from the beginning. I love this group because they take the time to get to know you. You’re never treated as another patient, and you’re ignored by the system. Instead, their midwives sit down with you and get to know everything from your concerns to your birth preferences. Each appointment will last 30-60 minutes, and you will never be rushed. They also have access to everything you’d need from a standard medical centre including ultrasounds, genetic screening, and labs. Your care will be comprehensive and personalized to your unique needs. Additionally, they keep education at the core of everything they do. They want to be sure you understand your options and can make the choices that are right for your body.

When it comes to your delivery, Aspen Community Midwives wants you to have options! If you would prefer a home birth, they will work with you to ensure you feel prepared well before your due date. They will make sure you are an ideal candidate for a home birth, plus they will help you get your space ready for the second the contractions start. And if you’d prefer a more traditional birth setting, such as a hospital, they have you covered! They will prioritize your voice and make sure you always have the choices that are best for you.
